Call & Response

Call and Response

Over the lockdown period of 2020/21 I spent a lot of time organising and hosting a creative trail in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and periods of 'lockdown'. 'Call and Response' invited artists to make a 20x20cm image and pass this on to another person who would make their own image in response....and so on.

Twelve such trails started at the end of October 2020 and the 235 images formed an exhibition at St Augustine's Arts Centre, Stanford Avenue, Brighton, from early July to 4th September 2021.

All images were for sale (£25 each as a minimum) with 100% of the sales going to Brighton & Hove Food Partnership - a local not-for-profit organisation. This organisation was chosen for how it promotes   healthy eating sometimes on a tiny budget and in turn addressing good emotional health. I'm trilled that together we raised over £2,200 for BHFP.

Thank to all the artists/creators who took part and donated their work; for many it was a meaningful connection with others when we were experiencing isolation and 'social distance'. Thanks also to all those who came to see and support the show; we have had such lovely feedback from so many people.

I'm hoping that some of the unsold work will be displayed in Fiveways Artists Open Houses the November - 100% of sales going to BHFP.
