Rex is based on the edge of the South Downs in the small town of Lewes. He works with acrylics and mixed media.

Rex draws inspiration from a variety of sources. Often his work explores memories of travels and places, using sketchbooks from which he creates vibrant paintings. The images draw on colour, structure and motif, evoking a 'sense of place' and mood, rather than a literal representation of a scene.
Rex has recently been working on images inspired by the Isle of Lewis chess pieces, held in the British Museum. These are monochrome images with a more narrative or theatrical element.
Rex's next exhibition, for one week only, will be at No1 West Street, Somerton, Somerset, TA11 7PS, Monday 16th October - Saturday 21st October 2023. The exhibition will be open 9-5, but possibly evenings if there is interest. Do please call 07745892678 if you are making a trip.
